I just placed my order for another ATPro This must be my fourth or fifth one I had a V3i with all the bells like DX1 coil and it was just getting to heavy to manage for these 84 year old arms so it's back to the Pro again I all ways liked the pro the screen is a little small for my eyes but you can't have everything. It will be lighter and easier on these old arms.

Welcome back! It's always a bonus to have a person with so much life experience posting on forums. So.....what kind of detecting to you do...relics? coins? jewelry?

84 years old kinda makes me feel young again anyway the ATP is one fantastic machine and to make it even lighter try the 5"X8" coil - I get almost the same depth on my ATP when using it but mostly keep the 8.5"X11" on it for more ground coverage. Thanks DFX Don for posting your story and I do wish you many great finds with your new ATP while out dirt fishing.

Welcome back I'm 74 and I hope I can still do it in another 10 years congratulation detecting keeps you young .:clapping:

I am coming back to the ATPro as well. I bought one when I was a newbie and really didn't give it a chance before trading it for a Vaquero. (What a mistake) This time around, based on my coin garden tests, I think I like it! I wanted a freshwater swimming hole machine with notch capability, something my Excal won't do.

Thanks John I liked your nice welcome, at my age I have slowed up quite a bit but I like to hunt Play grounds, fair grounds, old Home steads, city right-a-ways and casino's one time at a casino on my detecting I found 26 old coins mostly old quarters they were from the day when they used real money and not paper, it is getting harder every day to find older coins but I still look I live in a area where three of the houses are over 125 years old including mine the rest of the houses are newer.
Many years ago I went to school in Mass on the way back to Minnesota I went through the sue locks to enter Canada and go around the lakes to come in at the Minnesota entry point and the inspector checked my car and found my detector in the trunk He didn't want to let me in saying everything found in Canada belonged to the crown I don't know if it was that way back then or not but I here there is a lot of detecting up there now.
Well I think I rattled off enough for now will close by saying keep up the good work
Don

Welcome back,Don..!!!!! You truly are an inspiration... Wow..!!!! I can only hope I will live to be 84,never mind swinging a metal detector to boot...
you truly rock Sir..!!!:super: I can definitely say the 5"x8" makes a huge difference in the weight of the AT-PRO... without sacrificing too much
depth... you have quite a resume of detectors... Don, I sincerely wish you many more great finds... Thank You..:):usaflag:
