do you hunt mainly parks or do you hunt old house sites where the house was burned down 70 + years ago. a house site that has a fair amount of tin, nails and brass. I hunt old house sites looking for civil war relics and feel on maybe half of them I am picking through it pretty good then I hit one that I know it is there but am just not hearing it. I think this is because there is a pretty solid field of trash above the good stuff. Have you experinced this and how do you overcome it. I have only gone to the 8" stock coil on my Explorer II. I will cut back sensitivy to 10 to 5 and change my discriminate setting to 4 or 5. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

Check out the relic and bottle hunting forum. Some good post in there about hunting old homesteads.
