I am hunting an old church today that I have been eyeballing for some time!

A large church out in the country has been getting the eyeball from me for some time now. I stopped and asked the neighbor if they knew who owned it, because now it is empty. He told me who and I contacted them yesterday. The owner gave me the green light with the exception that if I am going to detect it, to do it FAST! He informed me they are in the middle of selling the building right now and are scheduled to sign papers on monday. So I am praying the rain holds off so I can get it hunted this afternoon.

I would go this morning but already had plans with my mom, I don't get to spend much time with her, and I am not going to cancel on her to go dig. So pray the rain holds off for me, and I will post my finds............if I get any...........later. :clapping:

Git R Dun! Sounds promising!

Sounds promising - A few showers will only make the metal sound brighter :super:
Have a great hunt!

I know the master newbie will use the force .......of the md anyways... and find some great things..

man what a BIG let down, I swang the coil for a few minutes and got nothing, so I went to ALL metal mode and dug everything. Let me tell you I dug a LOT of trash. But not one single coin, not even a modern penny.

I'd have to say this place has been detected before. Well I guess you can't always win.

On the bright side, I did get permission to hunt an even older church for the 4th of july weekend. Maybe something good will be found there!!

Best wishes and good luck on MD"ing the older church and hope you find silver, gold and bunches of coins and relics! :)

God Bless!

Too bad - that is how it works sometimes. I had my eye on an older church - that I knew was around since the 20s - and while I found a few pennies, nothing was older than I am. Your next church hunt will work out better, I'm sure.
