Even @ 69 years of age, I'd go back to work in a heartbeat if I could. The leukemia ended my ability to work and my heart attacks made it impossible. I'm grateful God has given me social security. Without it I couldn't make it. I worked hard all my life and paid into the fund until the day I retired. One year later, I contracted leukemia and that ended my chance to build my contractor business. Today, if I had the necessary funds, I'd likely go into business building one of my inventions; customized folding hard covers for the back of small pick-up trucks. There's nothing like it on the market today.

Hey SS...regarding your invention...theres a group in GR called GRIN...the Grand Rapids Inventors Network...its a wonderful place to go and get help with an idea...theres all sorts of members with different skills from manufacturing to finance and marketing, and its all free...these little groups are springing up all over the Country to help out the little guy...you should look them up.

my daughter will be unable to work before long and is almost crippled from Fibromyalgia and other health problems, but she will have to keep from working for a year before she can draw it and with her and Troy's medical bills, she cannot afford to be off work for a year or even less and pay the bills and have medical insurance! Yet, there are others who are on disability and shouldn't be drawing it! The justice system in this country is very unfair and many know how to work it and get what they want, including welfare and Medicaid....immigrants seem to get free housing, medical care and etc.....that is only what I meant! At 62 I went on SS because of my health and before that I did not have money to pay bills, but I used my savings and borrowed on credit cards and managed with God's help, so I, too, am thankful my ex and I paid into it, but there are many who draw off other peoples' working and never paid into it! If someone can't work....this I understand; therefore they need help from the churches and/or gov't.. SS is not an entitlement, as the taxpayers work and pay into it for retirement and for disability! May God have mercy upon us all! I give Him the praise and glory for all He has done for me! Amen! Ma
