i cant hear my threshold below 18.....

its been like that since i got it. i know that i might have some hearing damage from where i work but i was wondering just how low everyone elses machines go? i can hear 19 fine but as soon as i push the button....gone! no audible threshold! now i just ordered new headphones and that might help a bit. but really i think it might be broken.

ok. i know. the more times i read it, the stupider it sounds. ill try again....

when i adjust my threshold volume down, i can no longer hear an audible sound when it reachs 18. it seems like there is alot more adjustment past 18. id like to know if this is normal for the machine or if my detector may be broken? now my hearing isnt perfect, but my wife cant hear anything either. also it may be something wrong with my headphones but i dont know for sure. i tried two pairs and the new ones are still in the mail. thanks -mike-

Mike,
The threshold does go silent at that setting and you won't be able to hear it.

I think mine is below 15. I know for sure I can hear it at 16

thanks guys...sure soothes my mind. i didnt want to have to send it back to minelab this time of year. my best huntin is comin and i didnt want to be without.
