Yeah but what one of those you mentioned can find in one day something with enough value to pay for itself? All those you mentioned will cost you more after you buy it. They don't pay for themselves for the most part. A metal detector can find things that can pay for the machine and then some.

I would totally agree with what 'Finderskeeper ' has posted,over here in the UK we are lucky that we have a vast array of history and some of my gold finds this last year have payed for my detector a few times over and more,i also look after my detectors and after i have done some indepth research on a detector i will then pull the trigger on the debit card and buy one including the ATX and will keep them for many years.On the other hand cars over the same 12 month period loose me alot of money.
In the case of the ATX i am very interested in buying one,but i will still give it a few more months yet to see if any problems arise,i cannt for see any but that is just the way that i am,then when i am 100% happy i will then pull that trigger on my Debit card but even then i will bring one back from the US when i next go over in march and save a reasonable amount of money as well.
