I do wonder what would be a good charity to help victims of the Tsumani... Just never sure which ones actually get the aid there... Anyone?

Posting this in a few of the forums to get some opinions... That has to be a nightmare... Guvner..

Call your local Red Cross chapter...Understand they have a special fund for this particuliar disaster.
Being a retired state police officer, saw them in action and also had a relative that retired after many years service and know the monies go where intended for aid. Best bet in my book and do be on the lookout for false disaster funds.

Sorry C.C. started typing the post and was distracted so guess we had the same idea aout the same time but you posted first.Anyway 2 votes for the Red Cross...

Go for the American Red Cross. They work fast and have low over head costs. More money gets to the victims. The American Red Cross is supposedly different from the international Red Cross, I think, which has a much higher cost base.
If you have nothing against giving to a religious organization, Catholic Relief Services has substantial logistics in the area and they have put up a fund specifically for this case. I would think they would be there in a big way faster than anyone else.

I have been reading about this disaster for days, like all of us. I finally decided this morning to make a contribution. So I looked at a list of very reputable organizations that appeared in one of the internet news sites (CNN or the like) and chose "Doctors Without Borders."
I have read about them for some years. they go into areas where others often fear to tread. They have gone into some pretty hairy places, including war zones. You can see their site at http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org.
There are quite a few really effective groups out there. The choice is yours.
