I don't know where pets go when they leave us...

Pete in MI

New member
The names of previous pets who have passed on - their names written on our hearts...

Spanky - Sherry's dog
Pokey - Sherry's first bird - a cockatiel
King - my first and most loved dog
Cheyenne - our first bird together for Sherry and I
Chuckie - green cheek conure that loved me and left behind his mate
Vic - a sassy little peach face love bird...named Vic because on the coldest day of the year the owner was being evicted and Vic was to be set out to the curb to die...Sherry and I drove to Bay City to rescue him. He had a horrible life before us, a short one with us but he finally trusted us and was friends with Pokey before he passed on
Bruce - the best cat one could ever own...got along with the birds, put the dogs in their place and died because of a spider

Today....we will add one more to this list

Chandler - we got him from a doberman rescue place. He was born in 2000. The people who had him first butched the bob job on his tail and we got it fixed for him...he never got to shake his tail...but ya knew he was happy shaking his 'stubby'. He has been a great watch dog...well until Casey ruined him...turned him into her 'cuddle buddy'. I could say a lot more but time and tears make it impossible right now. Have to run to the nursing home and then to Clare VA clinic then take Chandler to the Humane Society where we will part ways.

I thank God for all the blessings these pets have given us - wish they could live forever...and guess they do...in our hearts.

Prayers for comfort.

Scripture says human spirits go back to God Who gave them and spirits of animals go to the ground! And yet in the Millinial reign there will be animals and all will be at peace for a thousand years and then the final end will come with a new earth and new heavens! Since there will be only happiness and no grief in new Jerusalem City we will not know that we had animals or friends that didn't have eternal life there! So, if there are animals there or not, it won't make a difference but to be blessed with our pets who love us so dearly and we love them so dearly, too, is something we can be thankful for now and grieve for them just like we do loved ones and friends who pass away out of their mortal bodies into the life beyond whatever it may be according to God Almighty's fair judgement! May God Bless you with comfort and peace in the passing of your pets and especially the last one! If people and children feel better in thinking they go to heaven when they pass on, whether they do or not, doesn't hurt anyone, for the truth will be revealed later when we are with Jesus and like I said, All will be peace and joy there whether our animal pets are with us or not! Amen! Ma Betty

I know pets are a blessing while we have them. Don't want to divide people who believe what they believe. I believe only that God has blessed us here and now with pets to care for and to enjoy. What and where they go after this I don't know. I am not a Bible scholar and have not taken time to research the truth.

I am just saying wherever Chandler is, he has company in all the other pets who have preceded him....assuming they don't just go back to dust to dust and ashes to ashes. I only want to say Thank you God for the pets we have had and the ones we have now - they are a blessing to us and I thank You, Father.

God bless all those with pets and who have had pets - may their memories of great times never be forgotten.

Pete, Bummer I can't quite relate, but I do understand. I Love my dog but not the same way as many of you true pet lovers.

The Bible is unclear, and I am pretty sure, completely unclear, it does not say one way or another. I think it is left out because that is a topic that does not relate directly to the salvation of mankind.

There are inuendos both ways, as Mike and Ma Betty point out. Many people make solid arguements both ways.

I am equally convinced that I will be able to sit and drink a cup of the finest coffee with the good Lord himself. Truth is though the Bible makes no specific mention of such. Christ however, was always eating a meal with his loved ones. So I make an educated guess that that will be the case. Many argue the other way.

Ma Betty, "Since there will be only happiness and no grief in new Jerusalem City we will not know that we had animals or friends that didn't have eternal life there!" Lazarus talked with Abraham in heaven and knew full well that he had friends that were going to hell. The lack of grief in no way sugests that we will not know of our lives before our mortal death.

I think my point is that we MUST use a great deal of caution so as to not read premises into Gods word that are not there and can not be supported by scripture.

Jeff

That's why I only thank God for the blessings of pets. When I get to Heaven there will be little on my mind other than Jesus and being at home with the Father. If perchance, or by God's design we are reunited with pets that would be alright with me. If not, I don't think it will matter....what will matter is being HOME with God, the Father and with Jesus and in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

I am just thankful God gave us animals and birds, etc. that we can be blessed by their actions, songs, their love as we care for them.

I was with Chandler as the Officer gave him 2 injections. He lay next to me on the floor next to my side. We are sure he had cancer, was getting sick and throwing up a lot lately. Snapping at any of us was not him but his pain. He could hardly get up off the floor because of the pain. We did what was best for him. He will be missed. I am still looking forward to the day I meet with my Lord and Savior and go to live with Him and the Father.

So be thankful now for what you have, grateful for what you had as they are gifts of God and blessings to help us be happier in this world.

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

Well, Jeff, it seems like I have to explain my views of the Word of God farther, as I was speaking of the time when we shall all be in new Jerusalem City or in the Lake of Fire! These are the only two final places our souls will be, and whoever has eternal life will have immortal and incorruptible bodies and will not be sad of their past mortal lives, for if we did, we would not be happy and joyful when with Jesus forever and ever! The end of the age had not come when Abraham held the beggar in his bosom, and the rich man cried tor him to send someone to tell his 5 brothers how horrible a place it was in the flames of fire! This is a warning to anyone then and to anyone now that there is a heaven and a hell....hell and all sinners will be cast into the Lake of Fire in the end when God sets up His final Kingdom for His own!

Rev 20, 12, 13, 14 & 15....And I (John) saw the dead, small and grat, stand before God; and the were opened: and nother book was opened, which is the book of life: and the ddead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according their works. And the seas gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead where were in them: and they wre judged every man (woman) according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast in the lake of fire! The second death is to dwell in the everlasting fire with remembrance of all that the lost sinners have done against God and mankind!

Revalation 21, 7 & 8 (KJV) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God and he (she) shall be my son. (We who believe in Jesus and obey Him are all sons and daughters of God) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominal, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death. Let us not serve satan who can destroy the body, but serve God Who can destroy both body and soul!

Now, many will be tormented according to REV 14: 9, 10 & 11 with the smoke of their torment ascending up before God and His angels forever and ever! These are they who worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand. (These are those who are left behind when the Saints are caught up and away after the 3-1/2 years of the tribulation and be safe from the last 3-1/2 years when the worst part of the tribulation is going on! The plagues that tormented Pharoah and the Egyptians will fall upon the earth and those left behind who aren't in Jesus' safety like the Israelites were spared from suffering in the worst plagues falling upon the land of Egypt but not in the land of Goshen! We as God's Children engrafted into His family tree will not have to suffer in these plagues coming upon all nations and the people who don't really know Jesus as their own personal Savior nor trust in Him, Who died for us that we might be saved unto eternal life and joy forever more! Amen!

More later on the seond death and the spirit of man and animals and where they go after death! My eyes are really failing me and my Cataracts may be getting larger, as I keep looking through a fog when trying to read even in my KJV---Thompson Chain Bible...don't like the NIV....words are left out and the meanings are changed! The KJV was copied after the Dead Sea Scrolls and more reliable!

Sorry, I disagree, but this is what God's Holy Spirit reveals to me and that I understand! But we do see as through a mirror darkly the Word of God, but when we are with Him, we will know as He knows, providing we are saved and have everlasting life! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty.....I've studied God's Word diligently for 20 years or more and if I error it is me and not the scriptures!

I have a doberman and he is a great pet . He is Loren's buddy.

Casey ruined ours....she turned him into a 'cuddle buddy' LOL/

god has our mansions set aside for each of us ,knows you desire for your pets to be there,so they will be there and so will other animals.GOD fashioned earth from heaven.praise god !!!!!!!!!!!!

More Scripture......Psalm 6:5....For in death there is no rememberance of thee: (God) in the grave who shall give thee thanks? David's complaint in his sickness praying that all the workers of iniquity to depart from him, wanting to live, for the dead mortally and spiritually are of no use in serving God!

Cast into the lake of fire the second death has no power. Rev 20.6 Last enemy to be destroyed is death! 1st CO. 15: 26! Animals are beasts with flesh and blood and flesh and blood will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven! How can animals believe in God and accept Jesus as their own Savior and Lord? There is a spiritual body and a fleshly body and fleshly bodies cannot enter into God's Kingdom, only the ones filled with the Spirit of God and changed into new creations by believeing in Christ Jesus! We are sown a Natural body by Adams seed and raised a Spiritual body by Jesus the second Adam Who is the Savior of the world but each person must believe or remain in condemnation and die in their sins and never be immortal and incorruptible when raised up in a new body! In Christ we are new creations being perfected in His pertectness! Isaiah 31.3....Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together!

There is no power without the Spirit of God!! The Israelites had God, Who guided them in His power and helped them escape the Egytian's slavery they were under! Without Jesus we cannot win over sin and condemnation and have victory over death! Is: 25:8...& 1 CO 15: 53,54...For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible (body) shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal (body) shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowd up in victory. 55: O death, where is they sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56: The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58: Therefore, my beloved brethern, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for asmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Jesus took every sin upon Himself in every sinner's place and fulfilled the laws of men!

{Ecclesiastes 3:21... Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? The spirit of man goes back to God Who gave it and awaits their immortal and incorruptible body when the dead and alive in Christ are resurrected when caught up to meet Jesus in the air! We shall be changed in a moment and be with Jesus in a twinkling of an eye! Amen!}

I don't always give chapter & verse of the scriptures because of my poor eyesight! It is difficult to look up the scriptures as I haven't memorised them and even if I had I still would be too forgetful to remember where they are specifically, but I do remember a lot and though I don't post exactly chapter and verse, I do know of what I speak and write.....most of the time! It is better to show proof though when a person can and is able to do so! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
