I found this lead thing at a civil war camp site.has the same eagle that is on the back of an 1850s quarter i found next to it.i cant find any thing like it and i am not shure on its value.if anybody has any info let me no thanks

I can't help with the ID besides that it is definitely civil war era. Trench art I guess. As far as value I generally don't look into that much. But it is a very cool ,one of a kind find!...

Awesome find!!! My guess would be a lead seal, it appears to be smaller than a quarter so it was not done from pressing a quarter into soft lead.

My guess is some enterprising soldier was making a counterfit coin. Cool find.

keep on diggin'

No idea but someone had a lot of time on thier hands. CCH

Not sure what it's worth if you tried to sell it. But since it most likely belonged to some home sick civil war soldier and you brought it to light some 150 years later, I'd say its worth a ton!
Nice find LA.

I realize this is an old post, but that's probably a .58 cal conical lead bullet, pounded flat to provide working material for all kinds of 'crafts'.
Remember these soldier were bored, lonely, exhausted, and more than a little in need of distractions. So they fabricated poker chips, checker sets, little figurines and whatever else caught their fancy.
