Last Saturday I spent almost three hours at the same school where I found my oldest coin. The area I was detecting wasn't huge but it still produced some pre-decimal coins for me including one tiny silver threepence (which I scratched!) plus about $29 in loose change. One of the more interesting finds was a 3inch lead toy Aussie soldier and I was told that his 'uniform' is from WW1. Check it out and also the video...

I wonder what vintage the soldier is? I am a bit of a WWII wargamer myself (Flames of War and Foundry Miniatures) but I haven't seen a WWI Aussie soldier like that before.

Looks like it could be quite old. In very good condition too. Is it 28mm ??

Nice finds, I especially like the soldier. I have found a few WW1 figurines but they have been broken. Two particular companies: Barclay and Manoil manufactured metal soldiers that can be quite collectible $$. Might be worth some research on yours. In any case, it is a really COOL find.
