I finally got out today, to search a huge hill covered with ice and snow. Before I left, I updated my machine to the latest firmware #9.13. I imediatley noticed a difference with how it operates. Using the Viper coil, there was a noticeable difference in that the sensitivity was increased, and the deeper targets gave an accurate ID. I pulled out a couple of dimes in the snow at about 8 inches. Very nice indeed.
I found $7.00 this afternoon after a couple of hours searching a sled hill. Some quarters, nickels, dimes plus one and two dollar coins. So far this year, I have dug up $26.11 in clad. But, I also cashed in 11 silver coins I dug last year Plus all the lead I had accumulated during the last 40 years, bringing up my totals to $86.11. I am again saving up for another gold nugget at the end of the year.
I am by no means a computer geek, however, this firmware took the longest to upload into my VORTEX VX9. I am guessing that a lot of good updates were added.
I did also manage to get a little gold prospecting too!
