Thur I went back to the place that I did so good at last weekend. This time I found "2" Merc's 24 & 28, a 53d Rosie, A small coin from Norway 1954, 15 wheat's, a 925 silver ring size 5 with FAITH cut in to it and a Look Savings Medallion token.
Fri I went back to that same town an this time I went to a different place and it was picked over pretty good but they missed a few coins. At that place I found a 1902 Barber dime and a 1960 Rosie. not too bad for a hard hit place. Then I went back to my hot spot and found a few more goodies. I found a 63d Washington Quarter, a 42s Merc another Rosie 46d and the best find of the day, a 1925 Date Nail. I've heard about them but never found one until Fri. It's from the International Creosoting Co. it was put in a Railroad Tie or a utility pole the date it was treated. Here is a link that tells a lil about them and the one I found is in the third picture down. http://fantasticprices.com/DateNail/Railroad.htm
Sat I went to check out some new places. The first place I went to I was finding a few clad quarters here an there an then I found the silver ring, then back to some clad. Then I come on to a locking #45 and the tone was real nice. I figured it was going to be a 2 clad quarter spill because I found a couple of those already and those the numbers jumped between 42 an 45 but this one locked. I cut out a small plug and the quarters were not in the plug like the other quarters I have found at this place. I get out my GPP an check the hole and it was in the center of it. about that time i'm kind of joking with myself, wouldn't it be funny if it's a clad half dollar since I have found 11 Silver halves already this year and I'm sure this one is not going to be a silver one since I haven't found anything old at this place so far. Well it wasn't no joke, it turn out to be my 12 silver Half Dollar this year. A 1906 Barber Half. I just could not believe it when I saw that half. This has been one crazy year for me. After that I started to do a lil more of a grid pattern at this place and found a 37 Merc and a wheat an that was it. So off I went to the next place. The first two passes I made at this place I thought I hit the honey hole. In two passes I found a 53d rosie, then a wheat an then a coin spill a 44 Washington Quarter and 3 wheat's. After that for the next 2 hours all I found was 3 other wheat's  it sure was a nice start tho.
