I found a Key Date coin today

Mark in S.E. IA

New member
but I scratched it, :sadwalk:

Today I meet up with Hawkeye Jim at a street tear out and I had a very good day even tho it was HOT n HUMID. I found my second ever Seated Half dime and it looks like somebody tried to punch a hole in it, but the best find of the day was a 1886 V Nickel. I've found a lot of old coins in the 7 years that I have been MDing but that's my first Key Date, I also found another V nickel 1903, a ND Buff, 3 IH's, 1881, 1891, 1893, 2 wheat's and the 1914 Barber Dime.

Thanks for lookin

You had what I call,"An enviable day!" Way to go!!

Congrats Mark. Nice nickel, regardless of the scratch. It'll still look nice displayed. And the half-dime..... I love those little seated ladies. Unfortunately, mine must all be older sisters as the half-dime is still on my "things to do" list! Great hunt. HH Randy

Wow very nice the only barber dime I iever found in fact the only barber I have found was toasted in a fire ,Congrats on so much silver.

We had some fun despite the heat, wind, and super hard and dry ground............you made some nice recoveries!!!:clapping::twodetecting:

You may not have a Half Dime yet but you do have 3 1877 IH's and I want to find one of those real bad like, maybe someday I'll get lucky.

that melted Barber is a cool find. I have found 4 silver coins that were in a fire at one time. This spring I was at a 1 room school house that the farmer burnt down many years a go I found 2 silver coins that were melted together. 1 is a Merc and the other is a Barber or a Seated Dime.
