I found another 1865 2 cent piece and silver

Yesterday I was doing a lil scouting in some woods and I really do not know too much about this place. I started off hopping from one big tree to another and all I was finding was shotgun brass, that's kind of normal for woods hunting. I was going from about the forth tree to the next one and I get a real nice sounding #36 and it locked and I'll be damned if it wasn't a real nice 1865 2 center about 2" deep. Now that got my heart pumping a lil so I did a grid pattern in that area and didn't find anything else. I went in to AM to see if I could locate where a house use to be I wasn't getting much if any iron hits. I spent a few hours in that woods and the only two things I found was that 2 center and shogun brass, lots of brass. I know that their use to be a farm across the road because their is 3 huge old pine tree's a long the ditch line and I'm thinking that who ever lived there in the late 1800 was over in the woods hunting or cutting fire wood and lost that coin. I'm going to do a lil more research on that woods and see if I can permission to hunt the field across the road where the pine tree's are. After that I went to try to get permission to MD a Ghost town field but the owner was not home. then I went an checked on two different 1RSH's and got the big NO on getting permission to MD those fields. I'm having a big problem on getting permission to MD farm fields this year, I'm getting way over 50% NO's this year. So I figure I would go and hit the field that I did so good at this spring and it's still producing. I found 4 silver dimes and 11 wheat's in about the 2 hours I was there. That field is going to be giving me silver for a few years to come,

I'm thinking about shining up that 2 cent piece. it's just a comman date one and I do have several other nice ones, what do you guys think. Shine it up of leave it the way it is??

Nice recoveries Mark!! I'd say if you don't plan on selling the 2 center shine her up! Although it looks like it's in really good shape to begin with!

Tell them farmers that you want to kill some damn coyotes. They will change their minds real quick. Then bring up the detecting.

It will take about 10 to 15 min's in lime a way and that green will be gone and then I will hit it real lite with some 4, 0000 steel wool an water and then she will look like a shiney new penny, oops, 2 cent piece, lol
