I found this saddle. Any clues to what it went to?

I found this in Medon Tn on a civil war site. Also found some bullets too. Does anyone know what the saddle could have went to?

you are the only person besides me that found a saddle that i know of
mine is about the same size and may be a fob
but very different design as it is a spanish saddle
found many years ago at a house from mid 1800s
