I'm not sure if it's too "hairbrain" or not. This is partly an excuse to say that my Koss headphones have a short in them right where the cord meets the headphone, and I'm still leary of trying to take them apart to try and fix it. Last time I did that with a pair of phones, I never could get em back together. Open to ideas? Now, here's the hairbrain idea: I remember reading something by Charles Garrett about picking up the really faint sounds on the outer edges of the audio, so to speak, and I got to thinking, gee, what if you were to boost the audio with a small booster amp or something like that that you could carry with you in order to hear those really faint signals better. The only problem is, and please hear me good on this part. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME FOLKS UNLESS YOU HAVE SOME KIND OF AUDIO LIMITER, THAT WORKS REALLY QUICK, OR YOU AND I COULD BLOW OUR EARDRUMS OUT IF THE COIL ALSO PASSES OVER A LOUDER TARGET. I hope you get my drift here, because it really could happen. I've taken classes on audio recording and been around it all my life, and from what I've read, just one super loud burst of sound, and especially at that close of distance to your ear drum, could perminatly damage your hearing. I had a friend of mine do that when he walked past a loudspeaker one time when it was too loud. He lost part of the hearing in that ear, so in lieu of all that, maybe I ought to s__tcan that idea. Just a crazy thought, but very risky. Besides all that, this "bad boy", (the Quatro, I mean), goes so deep we probably don't even need any audio booster. Where's my darn backhoe Martha, I think I found something with my detector.?:|
:O by the way: Thanks for being patient with me again. I'll be a good boy and go to my room now, I promise.
