Mainly was curious about the big solar flare, and its effect or not on the detector...Not is the answer.
I hit a sand totlot that was soaking wet but managed to pull 11N's, 5Q's, 3D's, and 24P's in an hour or so...even got up tight to the poles and all, found two hotwheel cars and a cell phone, tiny rivets that hit at a 21 and a few live .22 rounds, so if the gold was there, I'da found it.
Still running the low sens and my normal settings. I know the wet sand helped the signals, but it sure made for a mess trying to sift it out of the scoop.
It was 40 degrees and blowing 25 out of the NW. You can run these big 11" coils up pretty close to the poles 6" or so, and still hear some sort of target mixed in with the overload. I bet the small coil would be better though.
