I had to sell my at pro when I was down on my luck but I still have a gold bug pro but I just wanted a easy and good detector as a good back up just did not want to go back to the sound of the atp I like the sound of the 305 and the others minelabe detectors that I saw on YouTube any tips or hints I hunt a lot in the old farms and tot lots hh to all

Welcome, and congratulations on getting your feet wet with a Minelab!

The three best bits of advice I can offer is:
1) Download Randy Horton's FREE e-book. "Understanding Your Xterra".
2) Plan on buying one of the six DD coils compatible with the 305.
3) Go through the FAQFAQ pinned thread in this forum for more good info and videos.

GL & HH!

Iv'e had the 30 and 305,they are much better then a back up machine,
the 305 is a cracking machine,
nice and light, and does more than a lot more expensive machines do.
Good luck with it.:minelab:

Thank you all

I love the tones in all metal

So far just testing and getting to know the detector but I like all metal and 99 tones

I bought a 305 and 705 in last few weeks. I decided to try the 305 under the bleachers at a local high school. This area is littered with nails and aluminum shards. What a little machine! This thing is spot on in every regard! I dug 100 coins in an hour and a half! I was amazed at how well it picks targets out of iron even with disc up pretty high (only searching for shallow targets)
