I had a pretty good clad hunt today

If there wasn't a certain person on this forum known as mudpuppy, I would have called it a great day. I found 207 coins adding up to $17.41, one of which was a wheat cent, and another one was my first clad half dollar. That half almost didn't get dug since it was right next to a light pole and was showing up pretty deep so I thought it might be a power cable, but no, it was a Kennedy half six inches deep. I am unable to cherry pick for some strange reason, maybe because all the silver rings I have found show up as zincs. Today not cherry picking paid off since both the silver ring and the gold plated silver cross I found showed up as zincs. I'm planning to save all the clad I find this year and buy myself another detector for Christmas with it. This hunt doubled my clad count for the year, and is only the third time I have managed to find more than 10 dollars in one day:rant: Oh well, not everyone gets to have a magic wand like a certain person already mentioned in this post.

watch out for that clad stabbin' mudpuppy. He can weasel his way into your subconscious mind and make you push yourself outside your normal limits  I wish he were closer so he could tell me "have another beer" (while he is handing it to me )

Mud - you are an inspiration to many including myself. Stab on - Jimmy

Are you kidding? Thats a huge day there Seth! Over 200 coins on a clad stab is really something to be proud of!!...:clapping: When a guy does the math, if you are in the right kind of area, that clad sure does make for a Big Year! Congratulations! My hat is off to you!:beers:

With that kind of clad day you will be buying a top of the line detector before too long. You had an outstanding clad fishing day. Most of us can not hold a candle to ole mud but we keep digging and having fun. Congratulations on a very good day.

My back hurts just thinking about 200+ bend-overs. Back when I was a little younger and healthier 100+ days were long and tiresome..... Just out of curiosity....your "silver" ring most likely isn't silver if it rang up as zinc...what machine????

I use an AT Pro. Zinc cents that aren't super corroded (those that are show up between 65 and 72or so) typically give a 75/76 signal and have a distinct hybrid tone since the tone break for mid to high tone is 75. All my silver rings show up between 75 and 80 most right in the zinc zone.

Oh, this wasn't exactly a clad "stab" mud, I only stab targets in the dime range and higher(Things in the zinc and nickel zones could be jewelry)and then only those I can hit with my pro pointer. Everything else gets garden knifed.
