tell me he had a nice clean 12x15 SEF coil and lower rod for sale Needless to say I will be taking a little road trip tomorrow to pick it up.Just got 3" of fresh snow this evening so it may be a little while before I can give it a workout.Every one talks about the weight but how many of you have used a cz3d with the 12" coil for 8 hours?Talk about coil heavy out of balance and I survived so I hope I can manage this coil.I am 5-5 and 145 lbs so I ain't no giant but spent several years using a Sthil 66 magnum chainsaw to log with and lived to tell about it Just in case I have a new in the package swingy thing but hate to use it unless I have to.If the 12x15 will get me about 2" more depth in a few of my sites I will be very happy heavy or not,Ray.

Ray..I have used the 12X15 for about a year, off and on. I use my ET all the time with the Swingy Thingy no matter what coil I have on. Guess I was lucky as I read a lot of posts that consistently complained about the weight/balance issue with the Minelabs. So I dodged it from the beginning.

I find I can stop to pick my nose, and the machine will just hang there, and I can kneel down to dig, grab the X-1, and generally do anything else I'd do if I didn't have the machine attached. Only thing that might help is to play with it for awhile. The adjustable slider is quick to change. Often a half-inch longer or shorter makes a real difference. Be sure to attach the suspender type clamp to your pants, not your tool belt, as you can only pull your pants up so far without making a major wedgie, but your tool belt can work it's way up your body and soon you'll find your ST is not doing what it is supposed to do.

Where the hook attaches to the front is important too. You can adjust it, but there will be a place, maybe lower or maybe higher, on your chest where the swing will feel comfortable and natural. As with any new gear it will take a few times to get used to it. I love mine and use it with every detector except my water machines...Jim

Thanks for all the good info and I should use it when I do an all day hunt as it would take a lot of stress off my shoulder for sure.Just because a guy can handle a heavy task is no sign he should if there is a better way,Ray.

Last year I used the Swingy Thingy because I had tendonitis pretty bad in my right arm. After it completely healed, I didn't need it any more. My 15x12 coil was still heavy, but I didn't have much of a problem with it. Every once in a while I'd take a minute or two to give my right arm a break. But I was still able to hunt with that coil for hours. I still have my Swingy Thingy in case I need it again. It sure did come in handy. Best of luck with your new coil. I can't wait to see what you find with it.

i have cz6a with the 10.5 and i could hunt for a day so i guess i wont have to much of a problem when im useing the 12X15.
well i guess if you get to hunt before me with that coil then ill just put my report in your post to see if we both came to the same conclusion hehe
