For the tip about Dave. Does he post on this forum? It sounds like Fertile provides fertile ground for great finds. Are you going back up there? What did you find?

I've sure been using the X-1 and happy to have it.

Did I tell you I bought another Minelab Explorer II on ebay. It seemed like such a good bargain; it came with an extra smaller coil, a protecting case, batteries, charger, car charger, apron, and a good price. It has been shipped but is not here yet.

Keep me posted about your outings as I'd sure like to join in the fun sometime if at all possible.

I take it was another Park that you found those finds at. Nice coins even though the Quarter is worn and in reality, the date could be from 1917 to 1930 Dug. Just wanted to clear that up with you. Hope you are able to get out and detect and look forward to more of your finds being posted. Good Luck and HH.:thumbup:
 
is that in 1925 the date was changed and inset so it wouldn't wear so badly. That's why as to the most probable date, I think it would have to be before 1925. Don't you think so too?
 
I just wish I could find some of the old time acid that was used for silver coins back in the day. It would bring out the date of the coin like the Nic-A-Date Date Restorer for Nickels does. But you have to settle for what you get I guess.
 
Thanks James! I did find one of these a few years ago and it had (as far as I can tell) a flowery design on the outside. It's quite a thin ring. So thanks for finally IDing it for me.

Some also looks like Hot Wheels as I see the fatter tires on them. Look under the bottoms of them as Tootsie toys are marked on the bottom.
 
You did good James and no doubt surprised your self in the process. Nice finds and the Canadian Half is especially nice.
 
At first I thought it was a Barber Half but was suprised and shocked to see a Canadian Half. Like I said, I am the only one that I know of to find one of these which is kinda hard to believe since I live so close to the Canadian Border.
 
You have a couple Tootsie Toys but I couldn't tell you what the other few cars are. One is either a Matchbox or Hotwheels and the others could be some other brand. Too many brands out there to remember them all.
