I have a smelting question.....

I have read several articles about taking the gold and/or silver finds and mailing them off to a smelter. They pay you like 90-95% of the gold and/or silver value and keep 5-10% as the fee for buying and smelting it for you. Does anyone use one of these companies and if so who do you use?
Thanks, Jasin

Also I want to know what are your thoughts or ethical views of doing this to coins and other items of silver and gold finds?

I have used Midwest Refineries and ARAgold.com with good results. Midwest refineries will not take placer gold, but ARAgold.com will take placer gold and they charge 2% of the refined gold or you can get your gold back in a bar.Midwest refineries will send a check for your gold or silver.
