I have an idea for an F5 mod (ya listening Fisher?)

My dilemma with tabs hitting hard as nickels continued today. The group here has been helpful using 26-28 as more nickel and less tab. I just let 31-32 go.

I finally had to notch out tabs, figuring that rings usually bounce around somewhat, and the tones calmed down, except the 31-32. I did dig nickels at 26-28 (5).

A seemly simple improvement for the F5 would be too take the threshold knob (that pushes to click) and add a "notch width" adjustment to the process. No more knobs, just using what is there to control the fine tuning of the notch feature.

What do you say Fisher engineers? Are you listening?

I'm guessing the f44 will be a much improved F5 with adjustible notch width, fetone, and backlight.

Rewritten here from his post at another forum:

Please, don't anyone bother asking FTP-Fisher engineering or customer service departments about purported products coming up. Not only are we not at liberty to discuss projects that have not yet been released as products, when it comes to "internet rumor products" we may know less than you do.

Last night when I first saw this thread I was really parsed arf. I'm partly over it now. Heck, "internet rumor products" are an almost normal part of the world we live in these days, maybe eventually I'll get used to it.

I occasionally joke that when I go to work in the morning, rather than check with the boss to see what I'm supposed to be doing, I just check the forums for the latest Internet rumor.
