I have an older Explorer XS which has helped my find a lot of nice coins. Would it be worth it for me to go to an SE Pro? Just wondering since it is s

you will be more than pleased.

...and will have spent a lot less money:clapping:

There are some sweet deals available on used EX2's and SE pro's though should you decide to go that way.

We all have our opinions as to what if any features are an improvement on the EX2...SE...as well as the E-trac.

There does come a time to upgrade. I think the biggest reason might be that it may not be long before they wont repair your unit. Now if its for depth or ID... thats a head scratcher. I have hunted with a couple fellows that use the XS and if its their they find it. Id say its 75 percent... but 25 percent the user which really makes the difference. It seems everytime an upgrade comes out there is always someone who will tell you its not better than the last. Im saying it might not have the bells and whisples but its still one heck of a good machine. The biggest advancement that ive seen is the Pro coil... not THAT makes a difference.

This is my coil of choice hands down for my XS or e-trac the 10x12= better depth, less noise, and hits coins harder than any coil I've ever used

just week before I checked explorer pro and found that few differences exist compared with xs, but biggest is pro coil on max sensitivity I got one inch deeper on small coin on my xs, pinpoint on new explorer is like dream. but in performance not big different if you hunt with open screen -14 all metal.
Firstly change to pro coil and next go directly for etrac. good luck

I've been hunting with an XS and WOT coil as my mainstays. Is the Pro Coil or 10x12 SEF coil a significant upgrade over the WOT?
Which coil is better?
I don't really mind the weight of the WOT, and find its pinpointing very accurate.
I will say that I dig lots of copper but very little silver.
