Continuous Processing & Sampled Processing
The T2 does it two ways.and in part I believe this is why it finds coins so well..............
Continuous........ The detector processes a continuous signal response throughout the duration of the sweep. (Swing) As long as it's over the target.
In other words." you hear" the targets or target on the complete sweep of the coil. All sounds are communicated to the user. You get a good feel ( Sound)
of the target letting you know the size, (Big) (Small) or Multiple Targets. You can tell if targets are deep, and even the shape of the target.
Sampled ............... This process takes a snapshot of the strongest signal ( On top of target) when the coil is over the target. This does detract from the feel of the target a little for a moment but provides accurate Id of the target on the Id scale. Sampling also eliminates the confusion of sounds you sometimes hear (Multiple target sounds) as you sweep an area your detecting..it will lock in and show you a good ID number on the targets you are looking for.But you have look..it's fast, so look and listen you will improve good target finds..in trashy areas..Non trashy areas the target locks on and Id's very well.
Tone settings available for use
Tone 1........No Sampling..just continuous processing.good for plowed fields or Rocky areas..
Tone 1+............ Gives a variable sound depending on depth.. Long shallow objects will give a squealing sound
Tone 2+............. Here's where it gets good............You get a low sound on iron targets, no matter their depth........Uses both continuous processing & Sampling (ID on screen) on iron targets. You hear all targets, yet your in discrimination mode...
Tone 3............. Coin hunters dream tone............Both processing features used at once. Low tone iron, Medium tone Aluminum, and Zinc cents. Nickles and most other coins produce a high pitched audio ( Sound)...set the Discrimination at 50..........dig the good sounds and good Id's on the screen..Separates the junk from the good.and does it very fast...Works great in trashy areas....
Tone 3b.......almost same altered so steel bottle caps produce an inconsistent tone.
Tone 4.... Close to 3..but adds a fourth tone High medium for older US coins that read less than Silver targets.. Dig the 73 to 79 id's and you will find old, old, coins if there in the ground.
Tone DP.........................................For all who like tone ID..........different tones for different ID numbers... Great in trash parks..but a little noisy for some.
The above is only my interpretation of the Processing modes available on the T2...It's as I have come to understand..I could be in error, and welcome any and all corrections to my post..In fact I ask that you do correct any errors I may have stated.........
