I have not used my Explorer XS for over a year because

I bought a Fisher F75. I have tried it and was not impressed as so many of other F75 useres rave about this machine. True, it's light and fast, but it picks up so many targets, it can drive you nuts in a trashy ares. So I got out the old XS and tried a comparison. I used the big old heavy 10.5 coil on the XS. I have to drag it across the ground it is so heavy compared to the F75. My best find was a 1960 Washington quarter down about 10.5 inches. I put it back in the hole and tried it with the F75. Nothing! It picked up some aluminum can very close to it but not the quarter. I tried it again with the XS and it didn't even pick up the aluminum but zeroed in on the quarter. I may be selling the 75. Schools still out. In the meantime, it was good getting reaquainted with the XS. Still a great machine.

I bought the SE Pro, despite being told by the XS crowd how heavy the Minelab was. My machine came with the 11 inch DD coil, and I can't figure out what everybody was talking about. The thing is very light compared to my old White's XLT. I am told the coil makes a world of difference. You might consider trading out the old 10.5 to avoid those 'Popeye Arms'. Dan.
