I honestly think there should be a Findmall rule that any person who replies to an original post is NOT allowed to post unless they delete the info in

I can't believe how many posts on the other forums I see that have gadzillions of posts and they all say the same thing in the subject like. It really is annoying.....

..... also post at top of forum page, under "newcomers to the forum please read this .."

When responding to a post, highlight and delete the original subject and type in the beginning of your response.

Good idea, Ed!

As opposed to down here? If not, explain so I don't do whatever it is.......

If you have more to say then start out your reply in the subject line and segway (not the killer ride) into the message area with you lead in reply. Take a look at our posts here. Then take a look at a post from anther forum and you'll see what many of us here do differently. We reply to each others posts primarily in the subject line. That way we can read and follow a topic without having to click on each and every post in the thread.

If there is more detail within a single post we can click on that and read it as well.

What information do you get out of a thread that has 20 - 30 posts with all the same subject line information. Here is a for instance:

Ok so what did you learn from that posting.....Many people have eyes that lie to them...

And now here is a typical post from our section:

Aunt was scammed out of $5K Views: 85
BusDigger -- 09/23/2010 02:48PM
That is so sad; it's gotten to the point of where Hank and I don't answer the phone unless we recognize the name of the caller on the caller ID.N/T Views: 4
Magyar -- 09/24/2010 06:39AM
That sucks N/T Views: 6
Craig in Alabama -- 09/23/2010 05:17PM
It's an old scam but still going strong N/T Views: 4
Brian(upstateNY) -- 09/23/2010 04:12PM
This scam is happening alot and all over!N/T Views: 4

Your aunt was scammed and Mag's, Craig, and Brian commiserated quickly and kindly and you did not have too click on any of the posts to read the replies that the responders conveyed.
Sorry about your aunt BTW. That was not cool by any means.

The point is this. If you have a reply to an original post just go ahead and convey that thought within the subject line. If you have more to add, put it in the message area.

And welcome to the forum. Many of us have been talking to each other this way for a number of years. Once you get the hang of it you are gonna see what I mean with other posts how really irritating it can be when you wade through a boatload of posts with the same subject line on each posting.

Bear with me here because I'm not following.....

If I click on the Finds & Friends Board, I get a page full of the most recent posts. There is nothing showing (of course there's posters usernames, dates, time, etc) but the title of each "thread" (or post). Clicking that particular thread opens another page which shows the OP, and replies, which include subject line in addition to the text box with reply. I'm not following what you have to click in addition to what I'd mentioned?

Only difference I can determine is where your eyes read from, the subject line or the text box. What am I missing? I understand the subject line is a bit easier to read because of larger/bolder text, but other than that I can't see any advantage of one over another
