The price was right on E-Bay and since I'm already using a 1500 and a 1000 (I have 5 coils for the 1000)I'm intrigued with using one of these earlier generation machines for which I already have so many compatible coils. I'll post on the performance of the Freedom when it comes in... but in the meantime, do any of you old-time detectorists have any experience with this machine?
Is it a fairly capable detector? It would have been one of Garrett's top-O-the-line machines in the early nineties. It might work well for my kids with the little 4.5" sniper mounted as well as a decent competition-hunt machine.
