I just got sick of the whiners... Banned them for now. They'll find a way back on to complain since that's their driving force... Just got sick of the

If you aren't enjoying coming to this forum why come? No one is trying to not give you your coil. You thanked me the other day for helping you out and sticking to it.
Today I'm a bad guy because I don't agree with you. Get used to it. A lot of people won't agree with you throughout your lifetime.
You guys just didn't see my posts asking for the resending of information. How it got to be a year without giving someone a nasty email somewhere demanding action is beyond me. When I saw your posts of late I got right on it. Your post about them not being Amererican was even more puzzling since you're a Canadian. Explain that one.
It basically got solved yesterday and all I'm seeing is more grief. Find another forum to complain on.
I'd rather have you somewhere else with all your snide remarks... Guvner..

I'll probably miss all the name calling tomorrow but I have to work and my moderators will take out the trash but oh well...
I still don't delete opinions about product here. Minelab has never told me once to delete a post trashing their products. Not once. They've always been quite confident in their products.
I deleted some things tonight that were just getting old and tired. My guess is actually there is just snow on the ground where they are yet and typing is all there is to do.
We'll let it cool down for a while and then remove the bans... I really don't mind if they can't stand me. There's a crowd they can join for that... Not part of the admission price to agree with me...
Guvner..

I for one am glad you deleted all that bickering. I was sick of hearing those kids cry over not getting their prize!! Thanks

Guvner, don't get me wrong, I understand why he was banned. I do understand that, but I also understand why he is mad. I HOPE that maybe you two can get together through emails and come to an understanding about what to post and what not to post and maybe let him back on the forum. Chris was a very smart guy when it comes to the explorer. He always had some great advice and also had some great finds to show. I think he was an asset to the forum. Thank you for listening...........Aaron

Personally I'm not real sympathetic as nearly all of those FREE coils appear to be stacking up on the east coast. Us stillworking guys(not to insinuate that the forum users aren't hard working folks) with little ones are stuck looking in the local areas . Living in the center of the US, a decent find to us seems to be 'run-of-the-mill' back east. I'm not whining but the finds of the month seem to go to the 'Reals' and the coins that I would need to travel a few hundred miles to find and hope that I could gain access to areas of potential! I personally don't need an 8" coil but would hate to see the find of the month go by the wayside because it is perceived by Minelab to be too much hassle. I've owned the Explorer/Explorer II for approximately 5 years now and have come to the conclusion that Minelab in general Rocks! I really enjoy seeing the old coins posted here and I visit this forum everyday! Great Forum! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Chuck Daniels

I could not believe that there are people BASHING!
Guv and Andy on this Forum!
Guv has set this thing up for us all to "ENJOY" and learn from!
Andy has tested this machine and wrote now 2 books on how to learn the machine in all types of hunting modes!
To me his first book was a "MUST" read for the person just getting the machine started!
If you read the book and follow His programs and set-ups you will start to find stuff!
FAST!
I am looking foward to reading his new book Hoping there is something in it I am missing!
That will give me just a little edge on finding DEEPER and OLDER finds!
I believe if you can say nothing good on this forum about people "KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT"
I do not post that often when things like this happen I just get Mad and have to let loose some how!
SO I GO DIG UP COINS!
MY hat goes off to both Andy and to Guv for there Help in the past!
I just wish I could express "HOW" Bad it makes Me feel to see NEGATIVE posts from People who KNOW
BETTER!
THANKS GUY'S
H.H.(GOLDDIGGER) J.W.

things here ain't all peaches and cream. we lost and are losing hunting areas at an astounding rate. I lost two productive farms this year because of change of ownership. although we have more targets in the ground, it is torture to know the stuff is there and can't be gotten.

This time of year we in the NE and other frozen parts north are bitter and prone to going postal.

Even when my detector has been out of warranty. Also the stuff that happened between me and Guv in the past is in the past and I am man enough to say I am sorry. Thanks Guv

We all tend to be human and I'm sure no different. There's things I did wrong even in this issue. But I did my best and that's what I always get stuck with... The better I do, the better it goes and for sure vice versa...
See ya... Guvner..

We've been froze up here in for waaaay too long now. As for the contests, well I've been pretty lucky in winning three times. I've received two prizes from Minelab thus far. The second got lost somewhere in the shuffle but I didn't persue it as I'd already won a new rechargeable battery pack. I didn't persue the third either until several others made mention on the forum about their missing prizes. I resubmitted and was promptly contacted by Chrissy at Minelab. The coil arrived within a week to a US address I provided them. UPS happened to deliver it to the house next door... but that's UPS As you can see in the pic... it's all set up and itchin to get dirty.

Yea.. that's duct tape the home handymans salvation! See this detector was used when I bought it 4 years ago. I knew at the time that the cam was cracked. I knew the whole time I leaned on it to get my fat arse up from digging up a barber dime or quarter that it was cracked. I knew every time I pushed bushes aside or swung at a spider sitting at face level that it was cracked but it held up. This past fall, it got worse and finally the cam broke off in my hand as I monkeyed with it. But several layers of duct tape and back into the bush I went. And the duct tape was there when I unearthed the War of 1812 musket cock that won me the 8 inch coil.

Now I wouldn't have expected Minelab to fix it [since I bought it used and with no warranty card], but had I sent it in, I'm sure they would have. Now I'm no gun-owner but I will use their now famous expression...

It still works and I wouldn't use another brand if ya gift wrapped it and paid me to use it. My detecting time is far too valuable a commodity lately. I may even shake down the wifey for enough cash to buy a new one....
So... broke or no broke it's the best thing in this relic environment since sliced bread and I can't wait for this season to start so I can snag what I missed with the stock coil using my new small coil. You'd have to hunt where I hunt to know the abuse this machines taken and the treats it's uncovered...
Just my 2 Canuck cents worth... I guess that's about $0.0001 cents US

PS I sure hope you and the Guv work this out Chris.. you've provided a lot of great input on here.

Before I got passionate for detecting I spent most of my free time looking for Indian Artifacts. Most of the farm ground that I had access to either switched to 'no-till' which doesn't bring up the arrowheads like conventional farming methods, or planted in grass or 'CRP'. When I began loosing fields for artifacts I renewed my metal detecting hobby and eventually combined the two on various occasions. I gained and lost access in the last 7 years to a great farm/ranch that doubled my artifact collection and the abandoned farms on this land produced several indianhead pennies, buffalo nickles and mercury dimes. It changed hands and I have not been able to get permission not to mention it went to no-till. Working on access to an old fair/carnival grounds that has not been used since the 20s or 30s. Oh well life goes on!
Good Luck and may silver shine from every hole!
Chuck
