Took the 8000 out for a spin with the 11DD. I really like this coil better then the standard one and I am use to it on the LTD and F75! This machine runs so smooth! It is so quite that it is a nice rest from the LTD but the LTD runs more quite then the F75 so it just keeps getting better. I wanted a backup to the above mentioned detectors. One thing was for sure EMI can ruin a good hunt on the F75 or LTD but I know that these machines are a bit hyper for a reason...The 8000 was to be my...when all else fails..lets hope this machine works...and it does. I really think the depth is on par with my F75 but not as deep as my LTD. The tones on the 8000 are not as nice or give as much information as the LTD or F75 but no other machine really has. I like the 8000 better then the F5.
I was hunting in the Gold Country of Calif, in an area that has buildings from about 1895...I have hunted this area before a few times but this time the 8000 picked out these hard to find buttons. Didn't matter what size the buttons were the machine hit hard and deep The machine is light and fast and holds a ground bal. I was hunting at a sens of 92 with a disc of 16. I was only hunting about an hour and a half but I would say as a relic hunter it can hold its own with the LTD or F75. I have not hit a lot of iron so that will be the next test how well it does at unmasking.
