I miss you, Tesoro :(

Well, I've owned the Silver, Compadre, Tiger Shark and Cibola. I miss each one for different reasons. I currently swing an ATP and I do enjoy that as well. I'm holding out for the 8 inch Compadre reports. I hunt soccer fields more than anything and I think the 8 inch Compadre would dominate! Has anyone played with one yet? If it is close to the 5.75 version I had, I will do everything to get one in my hands!!

I feel your pain, the Compadre is awesome I sold my 7" and kept my 5.75" I unlike many am fine with the smaller coil, the thing is so damn light the extra 100 swings don't really bother me. :) I would expect it to have the same discrimination and work equally well with maybe an inch or 2 added depth. I read it is still hardwired, unfortunately. Regardless newstyle or old, you should definitely pick another up. If there was a metal detecting Hall of Fame the Compadre would be in it for sure! :)

I currently still own the Silver Umax and love it. I used to own the Tejon and Vaquero. I really miss the Tejon!!! I wanted to try something different and high end, lol. I hope to get another one for sure.

I tried the high end other brands water units and wasn't impressed at all. The service was the last straw. I went back to the Tesoro Tiger and Sand Shark that served me well for sooo many years. And here is where I stay. My gold count is finally back up.
