Decided to try a beach that dates back to Colonial era. Had never hunted this beach, but it was on the "list" of beaches yet to be detected so this morning I headed out to it.
Was doing the low tide mud without much success..several clads, and metallic objects; so I decided to do the high tide line and that's where I found the Military button..it's big....the size of a half -dollar and is stamped "Scoville Mfg. Co"....that's in Waterbury , Ct..... (up in Joosta's territory.)
I was verrrrrrrrrrrrrry happy to find this button....I kept handling it on the way home...it's really nice...except the right side is somewhat indented. :>(
I know Scoville manufactured Military buttons for the WW's ..not sure about earlier eras.
Here's pics ...I'll be researching this button on the web , but I know that many of the members of this forum are very knowledgeable on the subject of Military buttons and have posted many beautiful pics of their button finds...so maybe you can help me ID it.
thanks for looking
Magz
p.s. here's a pic of today's dessert "Strawberry Whipped Sensation"
