I was standing in front of the sliding door in my motel room in Mackinaw, when I noticed something on an ice floe WAY out in the Straits of Mackinaw...I grabbed my video camera; and zoomed in on it-Turned out to be a pair of Bald Eagles perched on that ice floe, out in the middle of Lake Huron....I got some footage of it,if I could just transfer it to here, you all could see it...

Usually they give you the software with the camera to 'capture' or 'import' to your computer directly from the camera.

Now ya see why I love living UpNorth, Steve.

The Eagles fly around here in SE Iowa along the Mississippi sometimes during the winter also. Man what fantastic looking birds they are! If you do have the software to upload your videos to your computer - make sure you check the file size after the transfer and before you try to upload to any website or try to send via e-mail to a friend. I have to play around with changing file formats / types before electronic transfers. MPEG / AVI and all that nonsense. Play with it. You can also usually find a shareware or freeware program that will do the trick off the net. If you don't buy it - it will usually only work 5 times or so - or will expire in 30 days. If your camera has a flash card - you can read - and usually open - any file thats saved to it directly, just like a jump drive / regular hard disk. After you open it, you may have to save it to a different format / file type in order to reduce it's size. If you have the right software - you can also edit the file down some in size. That however - has not ever been an easy task for me to accomplish. It takes time to learn the software.....kind of like what everyone is telling me I will have to do if I buy a Minelab SE.
