.............on Nat Geo:"Physchic Gold Hunting".........About these 2 guys and one woman,on the hunt for hidden gold coins or whatever,at an old mission in California,I believe....they used a forked branch for a dowsing rod,and talked about happiness,sadness....it showed them at the site of this so-called buried treasure. They dug on a few sites they dowsed that indicated something there.OH-I forgot to mention-they also had a metal detector with them, which they carried around with them to this site,AND THEY NEVER USED IT,NOT ONCE in that show-Instead,they dug at these dowsed sites, found nothing;and then spent 15 or so minutes arguing amongst themselves why they didn't find the gold-all the while, their metal detector right there in plain sight, just begging to be used....and,never WAS used,in this program...........NOW,I have heard of dowsing, but never seen it done.I have heard that it works,too.BUT;-WHY didnt they humor their audience, and USE THE DETECTOR,just to corroborate their findings with the dowser??I do not know whom wrote this program, but it was not the best I have ever seen................OK:Let's hear all yall's input on dowsing.

I've seen it done several times for water with a 100% success rate. I thought it worked but I don't know if we would have hit water anywhere else if we had tried it.

Dicko..

I was on Fox News for almost 5 minutes. They spent over 3 hours interviewing and watching me to make the shoot. I am positive it was used but was just never put on film cause it didn't find anything either.

You can read all about the treasure shows and the treasure vacations. Things are PLANTED people. If you find something, your more than likely to come back AND its absolutely FREE advertising.

Have to take TV with something, its not to be believed.

Well, Steve I have never done it.....but had one guy visiting at one of our club outings where our president of the club planted a silver dollar and the dowser couldn't find it and was hidden in a not too large circle..but since it wasn't there for a long time maybe it needed an aura around it to be found! I don't know much about dowsing but have heard it works great on water and finding iron pipes in the ground! They were advertising dowsing and not metal-detectors, so didn't use one on the program but probably did when not on the video camera!

A story about my detecting in one of the large parks in the St. Louis, MO, area: I was metal detecting with my son, David, who had gone off someplace else, and while I was detecting, some Redwing blackbirds where attacking a couple of boys because they had baby birds in a nest in the tree where the boys were standing! I circled around the tree far enough to be safe and, as I was digging, a man came up and talked to me about finding stuff with a detector and as I finished digging the signal I found a really nice 3/4 inch wide 14 Karat ladies gold wedding band...fit all the way to my knuckle when I put it on...I was much skinnier then! :heh: Well, I looked around to show the man what I had found and he was gone couldn't see him anywhere so maybe an angel helped me, I don't know but was strange. When my son came back we were in the car going to another place in the park and he removed the dirt and could see that the ring was 14-K.....Praise God for His blessings!

We then arrived to the other area, I wanted to hunt and at a picnic table was a man, who looked like a prospector out of the Old West. He was using a dowser and telling me how he used it, by placing in its center whatever he was looking for like a coin or a
piece of gold, I then told him about my find of a gold ring...don't think I had it with me but left it in the car,,,,This whole thing was so unusual (a true, true story) that I have often wondered if the man and the old prospector man were angels or just a coincidence on that day with my son! We both would have dreams about detecting (although he didn't do much detecting) that would turn out to be true, so who knows for in Hebrews it says, do not forget to entertain strangers for they could be angels! End of post!!

If I could still go MDing I would use my old friend, Whites Spectrum XLT detector and not a dowser! Just my thought! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Dowsing or witching does work, I saw it work on my property for water. I just don't believe the TV shows. And I don't know if it works for metal. Maybe it does in the right hands? LOL the hands of the right witch? I have NO idea. I just know I don't trust TV shows to show the truth.

Years ago I watched (several times) people witching for water before having wells dug - before most of us got "city water". I must admit that this seemed to be a very successful way of finding water. In my early 20's I got into a discussion about this with an older man in the community and he tried to teach me how to do it. We got a forked branch of a certain kind of tree and we got busy. I did experience the branch pulling down any time we were around where his well was located, as well as a few other spots. Even in my early 20's and just before becoming a student of the Word, I felt weird about it; kind of like I did the one and only time I played with a Ouija Board when I was 13 years old, and that thing moved on it own, right under my fingers. After getting into the Word I became convinced that this is a form of divination and I wanted nothing to do with it. Several years passed and I learned of people using this method, either with forked branch or metal diving rods, as a method of treasure hunting. I never had a desire to try it, and as with the water witching, I "felt" that it was something I needed to leave alone. A year ago this past October I learned that this method can be used to find bodies in unmarked graves (or wherever a body might be), and that the rod/branch will even pull one way or the other to let you know if the body is male or female - I watched this being done. In September of this year I was given the opportunity to meet up with some people to do some body dowsing just to learn more about it. I was all set to learn about it when I felt overwhelming conviction from the Lord to LEAVE IT ALONE - and I did.

Personal opinion is that it is wrong and a form of divination/witchcraft and that is is not pleasing to the Lord for his people to participate. However, that is MY personal conviction. Am I right or wrong? Only God knows for sure, but I believe I'll stay away from it. If someone feels that it's OK, then I'll just leave that up to them and God about how to handle their own business.

Remember the admonition in the Word; (paraphrased) if it's feels sinful to you, then it's sin. Think about the woman when her son yelled to her from his bedroom. "Mom, is this tee shirt dirty?" She yelled back, "if it's doubtful. it's dirty."

Welcome. Where are ya from? Stop again.

god bless.
