I think Fisher is in a great position.

To make the next best thing.
The new machine from M. looks cool. But my gut is telling me to see what F has in the chamber.

I am in no rush to get a new machine but I am looking forward to see what they( Fisher) brings to the table. The light weight and good ergonomics of the F75 was light years ahead of everyone else. I still think a new CZ in an F75 package would be a complete machine. I love my Sovereign GT. Part of that reason is that it can slice through the wet salt beaches with the help of its multi frequency feature. The only other VLF, multi freq, machine I owned other than an M. made machine that could also cut through the salt and black sand was my old CZ-6a.
Being able to own a machine that is as versatile as possible is important to me an many other hunters. I can only own one Top end machine at a time so I need to feel that with whatever I own it needs to work excellent in old parks and salt beaches. My gut tells me that Fisher's next machine will fit the bill. We do not need it to be completely waterproof. But we should be able to hoze it down after use. I would like to see a machine that has some heavy rubber like gym equiptment hand grips covering the control housing and other areas of impact to assist with shock absorbtion.

I agree with you Jason - we know that Dave and John have been working on a new machine for the last few years so it must be getting close to release. I think M blew it with their latest but stuffing it with gimmicks and if pricing rumor are to be believed have priced out of the range of much of the hobby market.

If FTP has a new high end machine that is lean and mean like the current top of the line then they could fill a real vacuum with it as long as they don't get carried away with the pricing.

I think we are all ready for the next step up with First Texas. I am pleased with what I am swinging from them right now, but am ready for a new toy from them. HH jim tn

If Fisher comes out with a new machine I hope they have a multi-tone in All Metal mode. Having only one tone in All Metal means having to keep your eyes glued to the display. Basically I find the All Metal mode worthless for that reason. Some have said if it has multi-tone in all metal then it is not a true All Metal mode. Why? Is there any reason why the on board computer cannot sound off different tones based on what is in the ground and still be a true All Metal mode detector? My Xterra 50 has different tones in All Metal. Then someone posted back to me that this means I don't truly have an All Metal mode then. Huh! Did someone notify Minelab that their xterra series have no All Metal mode?
