oh no i went to Ebay!
3010/GC-1010 (on the front of manual)
it just seems to beep all the time and them there is nothing?

is their anything i can read to help me learn how to use my machine properly as the manual is really crapie
i just think i need over all help i don't know what i'm doing
is this a Australian forum as i would like to know the best place to buy a probe in Victoria

it has a screen and depth marker up to 6inches?
notch does make different beeps nut nothing is ever there
please help me i am lost to this
 
I think what you have is a Treasure hunter 3030.

It is a metal detector. But don't expect it to work well. It has limited depth and an inaccurate display. I learned that by reading reviews.

For about the same price you can get an out standing metal detector. The Tesoro Compadre.

I thought this was an Arkie forum, but I ain't found many Arkies.

I guess they will let just any old MDer in here.

well today was interesting i think i have figured out my detector:clapping:
I found a Australian silver florin 1956 :yo: woohoo
so it must work its just the operator:ausflag:
i will post a photo of the few thing i have found with my machine

May I ask where you were :detecting:, i.e. a churchyard, schoolyard, beach, bush...?

Put the unit back on the auction block,but describe the problems with this metal detector and sell it..Even with this detector working as should its junk.
 
the florin was found in my backyard about a week ago.
the only place i have been is to the beach once, while visiting a friend far away. we found a dollar and 5 cents also a nice ssilver cross.
so i have been in the backyard as i am not to good on the hole size. wanting to get a pinpointer

my back yard holds a treasure trove or goodies
my son want to know when we will dig up a treasure chest lol
in the last 2 day i have found a half penny 1949
and 3 pennies all sitting on top of each other in one hole1956,1960,1952
I think my little machine is pretty good for a cheapie:detecting::clap:
 
The best metal detector out there is the one that you use instead of sitting in a closet collecting dust. There are some good entry level machines like the Bounty Hunter tracker-4 or the Garrett Ace-250.. Neither of these machines will break the bank. There are many brands of metal detectors out there and im not trying to say one particular brand is better than the others. I would stay away from those made in china. I honestly think the best detector is the one that works for you and you are happy with wheather you spend alittle for it or paid alot for it. Best advice I can give is if you see something your interested in, check the reviews on the product first before you buy. Ive been down this road before. Hope it all works out for you.

hello goldengirl, iv'e resisted making a post on this topic for a while, it seems iv'e made the same mistake before and seeing your post brought up those old memories. i once bought a white's metal detector for the then princely sum of 5 bucks that didn't even have the electronics inside the control box! but hey, i was young and bought it sight unseen. that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it! i admire the fact that you have taken a so-so detector and have pulled some very good finds out of your own yard! you should be applauded for that, taking a bad situation and turning it around to your advantage. what resilience you have! how cool is that. bravo! i remember many a day that i would hunt with machines that i percieved were not doing their job or were not up to par with what the other guy had. how wrong i was, and foolish for thinking like that. wtg, goldengirl. great job, and looking forward to more posts. hh,
 
It seems like everything is made in china these days. Thats for sure. I was speaking of going with a known company. Someone you could talk with if you have any problems. There was a truckload sale here from a tool company. Among the things sold was a metal detector for about 100.00. The detector had a 30 day warranty but there was no phone number or e-mail address if there was a problem. There is no way to contact the company. If it worked then it was ok. If not then your out a100.00 bucks. All major brand detectors offer at least 1 to 5 years on warranty depending on the brand. There is also alot to be said about customer service. As ive said, ive been down this road before and ended up chalking it up to lessons learned. I do hope everything works out for you.

thank you for you cheers to me it makes me feel good about my cheepie. Today was another good day i found 4 x 1cent coins and a $2 coin. the $2 coin was 4inches deep & the year is 2005, thought it odd to be that deep.
All the old coins i have found have been in one small area 3m x 3m. Today the reason was found, i dug on a old washing line pole cut down to under the ground. all the coins would have fallen out of all the pockets over time. went to local gardens today found nothing but :pulltab: so i went home my lucky spot lol, and that in when i found the 4 x 1 cent coins. every time i find one i think i should be the last how many could there possible be? this shocks me but i will keep looking till my backyard has no beeps left:wiggle:
