I don't know if it is the same as Derrelld was having but the last few hunts, while detecting my detector is kind of warbling almost like interference. I have had it at 2 sites and it is doing the same at both, I have noise canceled and lowered my sensitivity as well as put it in semi auto. It does it in both the probe mode and the coil mode. its not real loud like good hits everywhere but it is more like deep hits that might be good real quiet and warbley. could this be the probe also or something else. the probe is used and has a crack in the boot around the switch. Thanks for any info.

Montana.... thats likely a question you need to call Ralph at sunray about. Which battery pack are you using and have you noticed what your battery level was when this is happening. I cant tell you how often i complained about some sort of noise that just started getting louder and would go away ONLY when i reset the detector... couldnt noise cancel it out. I started using my AA battery pack and havent noticed the problem. I also saw my slimline would be well below half in about 5 hours of hunting or so. Personally, i think rechargeable batteries... say T-energy are a good replacement at a more reasonable price compared to replacing the slimline. Them dang things are expensive. I know MOST detectors will give you a hint that the battery is low by getting louder... especially the older ones.

I am using the AA pack with rechargeable ( NiMh ) and I am using the pro coil. I am going to try it without the probe today to see if that helps.
