Many of you have asked me to comment on the Ft. Hood shootings. I have been too pissed off to do so and needed to cool off before responding.
Yes, the traffic officers who responded, acted heroically.
BUT WHY do police officers have to save SOLDIERS on a military base?
WHY is our own military disarmed on military installations?
Had our military personnel been armed, as they should be, the response to a lone psychopath attempting to inflict mayhem would have been swift and sure! One dead terrorist, hit multiple times from multiple armed soldiers.
The Swiss and the Israelis must think we are absolute idiots to allow such a thing to happen.
Look at this: Israelis are Armed! (note the 30 round magazines on their belts)
And watch this: The Swiss give their servicemen rifles for life!
Has the melting pot we call America become so diluted with competing ideologies that our politicians and military brass can no longer trust our own military men and women to be armed on military installations, in their barracks, in their homes, or heaven forbid--on their person during their normal walks of life?
If our government cannot TRUST or TRAIN our American soldiers to be armed without incident while on a military base or in their homes then how can WE, the American people, ask in good conscience, for these same soldiers to carry a rifle into battle to protect our interests in some foreign land?
It is a travesty that we send our soldiers off to die in battle but do not allow them the means to protect themselves (and us) in our own country!
I am mad as hell about this, and I CAN do something about it...
I will arm and train our citizens AND soldiers to levels that exceed what our military offers and I will GIVE THEM A RIFLE to KEEP FOREVER!
