I thought it was kind of funny: He said,"That doesn't fly here."

A cop wanted to know about my MD'er. We talked for 45 minutes. He was trying to tell me great places to MD. One place I have been eyeing is an old house that got torched on the edge of town. He said go for it. I said, It's posted. He said, If they don't like it, they will tell you to leave.

Another place is the beach at the state park. I told him about all the rings that would be there. He said go for it. I said, they don't allow MD'ing in the park. I also told him that they can take my MD'er and my car. That is when he said,"Maybe down in Fl.but that doesn't fly here." All they will do is tell you to leave.

We talked a little more, but I let it go in one ear and out the other.

Sounds like you should give him a loaner machine and you both detect! Make sure he's wearing his badge.

yep if a cop told me that, I'd get his name and go detect, if anyone says anything, I'd pull his name out and say he gave u the OK

I would never detect anywhere that is posted. That's just asking
for trouble. Local opinion or not.

I agree with Willy John. He would be my new detecting buddy. If you don't have an extra detector for him to use, just buy him a box of donuts and let him watch.........kinda like a guard dog........

John. I was driving through West Virginia one time speeding like a madman and was stopped by a trooper. He came over and asked for my information which I gave him. He went back to his car for a few minutes and when he returned asked me what my hurry was. I told him I had been visiting a friend in Arkansas and had stayed a few months to help him with his new business and I was eager to get home. He told me that he had me going 15 miles over the limit and that my NY inspection was out of date. He said there was nothing he could do about the inspection but he could write me a ticket for the speeding but he wasn't going to. I thanked him more than once. He told me where his territory ended and that he expected me to stay below the speed limit until I got there and beyond. I did not exceed the speed limit until I got out of the state. He also told me that with my kind of tricked out truck and NY plates he was thinking I was going to be a drug runner. Funny thing was my pal offered me a pistol as payment for my services which I declined saying if I got pulled over in West Virginia I didn't want an unregistered weapon aboard. It was a good experience, or as good as getting pulled over gets. I am a fan of your state.

Now onto the detecting part of my post. No detecting for me today.

Chris
