and got a possible hack attack warning? What gives?

I had a lot to say but since I already said it once and don't feel like retyping it I'll spare you guys. The photo should do. Same old stuff from me.

Here is what I'd like to know. Why do old, deep, hand made nails give off such nice coin signals? I dug a few today. Kept just the one.

Chris

A good hunt ! Your clad totals must be moving up fast.!

Deep rusty nails!! Not to mention other rusty stuff. It's the rust you're picking up, mostly happens on deep ones. Remember, metal detectors are not perfect and most all them love deep rusty stuff as good targets. And by the same token, deep old coins can register as iron!! Ain't that a kick in the pants!!

Usually if I swing north/south over a deep rusty nail and then east/west the signal changes. The pictured nail locked in at quarter and didn't budge. I got down to around six inches and suspected I wasn't going to find a clad coin. Sadly, I was right.

Alright!:thumbup:WTG Chris!:please: Yeah man, I know what you mean about those rusty nails. Can get a bit frustrating. I second what BigCatDaddy said. All I can say is "Dig it, man!"

Garrett better release a new machine later this year if they want some of my MD dough which is piling up again. I am itching to buy a new machine.
