Then maybe I can turn some of this lead into silver.:drinking:

I have been in a terrible silver funk lately, just cant seem to even find a silver dime. Was determined to break it this week so I went to a couple of my favorite parks for a few hours the past 2 days but all I could scrounge up was a handful of wheaties and the nice selection of Civil War lead.

Oh well, there is always tomorrow:wiggle:

I don't believe I've ever found one of those critters.

The closes thing I've found would be a few lead sinkers when chasin' Injuns' around old pond sites:cool:

LOL guys. I do enjoy the bullets but I am a coin hunter at heart.

I do have one relic goal this year and that is to find a nice Eagle Button, I missed one today. Met up with Ashdigger this morning where I was finding all the bullets, as I pulled up in the parking lot, he was digging a nice Artillery Eagle button near the bullet patch, I was happy for him but would have given up all those bullets for that button.

There has to be more there, so I need to go back soon. It is amazing though that there is all that still there. The place is probably one of the most hunted parks in Springfield, but the SE Pro and Ashdiggers E-trac keep pulling great finds out. Love It!!!!

Dr. Bob I will tack those bullets. I know about the coin hunting that's what got into metal detecting, Love to found some old lead.

I've gone out and found Musketballs like those and really enjoyed it. Even though there not Coins, there still a nice piece of history and fit nicely with any collection and give it that finishing touch I think. Congrats on all them Old Bullets! I'd be going back for more for sure. Good Luck and HH to you Bob on your next outing.:detecting:

I've never found one yet. Were gonna have to change that when I come back down by you.
Great finds cuz. Keep up it up.

I'll take CW goodies over most coins ANYTIME because you just never know when that elusive belt plate, corps badge or ID disk will show up in the mix.
Some bullets were carved into chess pieces and figures that can't be posted on a forum ... seems some of those soldiers had a very creative side when they got bored. :)
I would NEVER sell any of my CW relics but you might be surprised at how valuable some are, when you get time to look around on the web, check out the asking prices for the Confederate belt plates and buttons :surprised:
