I wish it was always this easy...

Yesterday finally took out my Minelab to see how I did using my right hand, went to the Park my partner was hunting and started swinging, and was very odd, after about 15 minutes I told Tim I'd had enough, didn't dig anything, so switched hands, and a very hurting elbow, swung towards the car, ONLY signal I dug, maybe five inches deep, only my second mans Class Ring dated 1972. Now here's where it gets strange. I work for Kraft, and on a daily basis I'm in 4-6 stores a day. Today I was in Walmart here in Richmond, talking to one of the girls and mention the ring, she graduated from the School in, you guessed it, 1972. Didn't have the ring, but told her the initials and after about five minutes of thinking she gave me a name and said he's a Captian of the Police. I turned around and there's a Richmond Officer shopping, asked if he knew the guy and got a yes, he's going to give my name and number and have the guy call. I wish all class rings were this easy to return.

That is weird! Like they say, "Small World Isn't It"! I hope you are able to return the ring to the guy and keep us posted as to what happens. Just remember one thing though, ask him if he lives in an old house or knows anyone that does. This will most likely get you a few new spots to detect since the guy already knows that if you find something like a ring, you will not hide it and that you are an honest person. Good Luck and HH.

You swing with practactly zero weight. The Swing Thingy works great with a weed wacker as well!

Do remember the weight has to go somewhere and swingy thing puts the weight on your back..To me a sore arm would be one thing, but a sore back especially if you have a history of back problems could be a major problem....I can understand the method to the madness as back muscles are much stronger than arm muscles but if you have back problems be fore warned...

It doesn't really add any stress to the back since the weight's distributed well. Funny thing is, I didn't have it with me the last couple of times out and I didn't have a problem. It's a little harder at the beach since I can't really scrub the coil using the X-12 (it falses with every bump; anyone else notice that???) I guess I must be getting stronger :)

well if it's a females ring and she's married - your odds go to almost zero due to name change esp. if from 70's or before 70's.

Very nice find Jack and a very neat story that had a happy ending. I know how you must feel knowing that the ring will get back to the person who lost it. I had the same experience about two years ago and returned a 1975 class ring to a gal in Cottage Grove Oregon. She wore it to her 30th class reunion last year and sent me the sweetest thank you letter that brought tears to my eyes. HH.
