Now that i have my GT set up the way i want it ,still a little confused about getting a 12x15 SEF coil for it , Joe emailed me and said the Insight will not work with a SEF coil but i would assume the GT will still work with a SEF but just not the meter ?? ,the meter works great with all my other coils or should i get a 15 WOT and just forget about the SEF, if anyone knows much appreciated thanks Jim

Any Sov coil works with any Sov. Ask Joe if his meter(Im guessing its always on except in all metal?) somehow makes the SEF coils inoperable or hinders them in any way. He should know.

Jim, I use the 15" x 12" SEF coil on the GT with Joe's meter. Joe's meter will not work with the SEF coil. I do not know about the 15" WOT coil. GH, Don

Hi Neil Joe said he has to get his hands on a SEF coil and open it up and see what the difference is from all the other coils , Don i asked a few others the 15 WOT is fine with Joe,s meter , i think i will get a SEF anyway and just use the tones on the GT when i put the SEF on it , i have a SEF on my DFX great coil !! Jim

There was a possible from Joe for the SEF that somebody sent me a PM on a while back. From memory it involved adding a jumper to the coil connector but I don't exactly remember. I'll take a wild guess at it and say that the SEF isn't using one of the two grounds that are found in the coil connector pins and the jumper is to ground the unused pin so that it will work with the SEF. That's just an uniformed guess, though.

The SEF will work with your Sovereign it's just that the meter won't show target values.
