...this token was found in an 1800's dump. Any ideas what it is? Age?

To me, in looking at the style of outline script on the token (i.e. second photograph) it would seem to be a modern day vintage.
If the words on the token in the second photograph are what I think I see (i.e.

I agree, very modern use of type

The token is produced by Regal Cinemas Inc, founded in 1989. Based in Knoxville Tenn. From the link below:
