ID help please

A buddy of mine found this so I am not entirely sure of dimensions. Found at a site that was populated in the mid to late 1800's. Any insight would be great. Thanks

It looks like either a weight to put on the end of an old style scale or a drain plug. Hard to guess with nothing to compare it to size wise.

Hi, I'm sure it's a drain stopper of a laundry sink or something similar, I've known in use in my childhood, had to put a piece of cloth so that adjust.
regards
