No suggestions, just a question.

I don't have any suggestions either, but I'm sure it can be done. Some of the modders out there can build a detector from scratch. I've tried to read and understand some the stuff over in the GeoTech Metal Detecting Forums, but it's way over my head.

That is the only thing about the Vaquero. It does not have a good modulated signal.Supertuned it is really hard to tell the depth. The Vaquero could use a vco mode like the tejon. As the target gets deeper, the signal gets weaker. The Vaquero is so powerful,a 9" deep coin sounds like it is 1".All you can do is lift the coil. o_O

I always run Supertuned, so you know why I would like one on the V. Makes me want to bang my head sometimes.:rage:

Like SpiritRelic says, you can lift the coil. If you have a target with a narrow beep signature and lift it an inch and the target goes away, you are probably digging deep. If you lift the coil 8 inches and are still getting a beep, you probably got a surface target. Just one of the methods of using the tool to tell you something.

Just as an aside of running super tuned; my good target to trash ratio got much better when I went mostly to running with a usable threshold. May not be that way for every one, but made a huge difference for me in being able to pick good targets out of iron trash and not dig all the iron.
