Identify this house

okwaho

New member
I am working with someone who recently found a bunch of old photographs.
We are in the process of tryingto identify them.
This mansion seems like a house that should be reconized.
Any one have any ideas ?

Looks like it could have been a church or funeral home at one time. I t appears to have som eadditions. The one small tree in the pic on the right has some sort of fruit on it. Maybe oranges? Don't think apples would be that big on a tree that small.Hope someone identifies it.

House...looks more like a cathedral.

Recommend the Library of Congress, see http://www.loc.gov/pictures/search/?q=Mansions&sp=9&co=hh

Also the building has several recent repairs to the walls indicating it may have been damaged somehow. The numerous chimneys implies and older home usieing fireplaces and or wood coal stoves for heating which pre-dates the modern era. I suspect it may be European due to the Chimey designs with thse in England cming to mind. LOC will take cpies f your images if high reslution scanned and may even identify the building for you. You might give me some background as to the origin of the photos who had the collection, where, etc. This might aid in identifying the subject.. Nothing on the backs?

Good luck

I thought it was Stan Hywet in Akron Ohio. Very close in design but no cigar.
