Had about an hour and a half to burn, so I went back to old faithful and she had more to offer. Unfortunately after digging several iffy signals, I hit what was a solid 12-44. I Put the E into pinpoint and the area was littered with junk and several 12-43/44 hits. I'm relating the hits to the copper nails I dig in several areas of the park. As I scanned the target a 12-35/36 pops up and disappears for a brief second as the copper surrounding throws the E back to a 12-44. I once again pin point and bet on the most secluded sound and dug. To my surprise out pops a 2" long piece of 10 gauge copper wire. I was not shocked as there are several targets that end up being copper nails. I probed the hole and at the bottom came a firm 12-36 and I knew it was good, especially at 7". Pulled the small handful of dirt out of the hole and there it was, my injured Indian
My so want to dig and not paying attention to what the E was saying caused me to hit it and it pi$!es me off. This is a lesson for me and hopefully for those who are reading. It's a 1907, nothing special date wise but for me it's very special and too cocky as minutes before I dug the 1905 O barber. The ring was the final target that is junk, but a ring none the less and it too was 7"+ deep and would think to be older.
