Well yesterday after work I went out for a little while to MD. In the town I live in the city has been busting up & removing the sidewalks and replacing them with new ones. Currently they are working on two blocks right now. So I started down the first block and found a couple of clad pennies. Crossed the road and started down the next block and got a penny signal in the middle of the sidewalk (the clads I found were along the side walls). I thought to myself, this is got to be good! Got down with my pinpointer and discovered it was right near the surface. I popped out the coin and it was an indian head. Cleaned it off a bit and the date read 1897! I jumped out of my skin! That is the oldest coin I have ever found. Well I kept a going and got another reading "dime" bout 2 inches. I dug down and pulled out a clump of dirt. Ran the pinpointer over it and it sang. Started picking the clod apart and I saw that beautiful white silver ridge on that coin. I pulled it out and I couldn't believe it. Another first find for me! It was a 1901 Barber dime! Boy this is truely a great hobby. Jeff
