If you could get a 5 or 5.5 inch coil for the ID Excel, would you buy one ?

Really no need to go smaller than 6" with either the Excel or Edge IMO. Obviously Fisher cannot stuff the needed electronics in the 5" hockey puck shell so its about time they made some new molds for a size that would suit these newer machines abilities. Make it a solid coiil too no spokes!

I don't know much about DD's or if it's even possible on these units, but wouldn't that be nice in trash?

I prefer concentrics for smaller coils. A DD coil in the 10-12" range would be awfully nice to reach some of the stuff buried down in the iron that concentrics miss.
